TGIF

Mom just called me and said that Daddy was out of the cath lab. Doctors said everything looked good. Said the first stint from Sunday was in good shape and was wide open. (that's what it's supposed to be like). The put in two additional stints this time. If all goes well he should be coming home either tomorrow or Sunday.

Caroline, Brian, and Adam are already on their way to the beach. I'm waiting on Justin to get off so that we can get on the road as well. I'm a little un-easy leaving mama here alone but I know that she wants us to go and that she has GREAT friends in town that are here for her.

Please continue with the prayers and visits! It's going to be a very long road to recovery but I know that he can do it!

Family Update

Lets start with MAMA. Today's her 53rd birthday!! Even though she was in Greenville Memorial, she still got to spend it with her family. The Palmetto Bank has been very understanding with our circumstances and they let me leave work today early to go be with daddy. I brought a cake and her big gift and we celebrated in between dad's naps. We all gave her a new camera. This is her very FIRST digital camera (and it's GREEN)!! She was so thrilled! Now she can take her own pictures of Adam! (after we teach her how to use it). =)HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BEST MAMA IN THE WORLD! I LOVE YOU!

Next, lets move on to THE PARRISH FAMILY. Adam has been suffering with a cold and a double ear infection. Just another thing on his long list of "issues". I got to babysit him Tuesday night as Caroline and Brian went and took care of some of Daddy's yards. He was so precious even though he felt terrible. I fed him, gave him medicine, bathed him, rubbed him down with the calming, bedtime lotion, put his pj's on him, and got him ready for bed for mommy and daddy. He was such an angel!! I went by this evening to check on him and he seems to be much better. He was back to his cute self smiling at me!! (it seriously melts my heart!) I tried to capture some new pictures to post but none of them turned out wonderful. A few are from Tuesday when he felt crummy and a few from today. He still can't quite hold his head up but its so fun to watch him in the bumbo. He has also discovered his feet and love to grab them! He's definitely ready for the beach this weekend as are the rest of his family...

Tuesday night's bath. Feeling crummy... Glimpse of his incision.

Still not to sure about the bumbo!

Mommy and baby

Loving his feet =)

That's right, I said beach. Originally the family was going to Litchfield this weekend because it's the McElveen week but obviously things aren't quit that easy now. Mom has convinced her girls... aka Caroline and me... to go ahead and go. She promised she was ok being left to hang with daddy. (If you read this and are in town, please check on them! k... thanks!)

Now lets talk about the main man... MY DADDY! Today I think he was a little relieved. The docs finally decided to go ahead and do another heart cath and put another stint in. Reason being, dad's body has been "misbehaving" (so the doctor said). We are all in much better spirits about this decision. We didn't want him to come home until he was 100% better. Dad's scheduled for tomorrow morning. They can't give us a set time... all they said was it should be between 7am-noon. We are all leaving at 6 in the morning just in case dad's the lucky one to go first. BACK TO TODAY... around 5 this evening there was a knock on the door to dad's palace and Kirk Stroud walked in the door. (Kirk was one of dad's Citadel roommates and best friends from Charleston). He got wind of Dad's health and hopped in the car. Didn't call or anything! It was definitely and great surprise and put a huge smile on daddy's face! After he stayed and visited, we all decided to go and head home being that we are coming right back in a few hours. Dad was feeling good and wanted to walk us to the elevator. (scared mom and me a little but were thrilled he was feeling that good) We kissed him goodnight and said we'll see you bright and early!

This is daddy's arm. It's the damage from Sunday... the middle of having a heart attack, nurses in ER obviously had hard time with IV's. (kinda irritated me!)

The following pictures are of dad's "presidential suite"

That's where we stand! Promise to update when I return home! Thanks again for everyone who has said a prayer, called, visited, or helped us out in anyway!! We love you!!

ReRe

So I went to visit my sweet daddy today...
while I was there daddy was treated to a sponge bath by his sweet nurse. (I stepped out while this was going on.) His room is very nice but in a way, annoying. He has no privacy besides the curtains. He doesn't even have a bathroom. Just a potty with a curtain. We are hoping they'll move him out of CCU and into another cardiac unit with less supervision and more privacy. (at least a bathroom door!!) Nothing has changed with his health. I guess if you haven't heard from us, assume that no news is good news! There are so many of you that want us to keep you posted but there really isn't anything to tell. We promise that we'll update you as soon as something changes. Again, we appreciate all of your thoughts, prayers, e-mails, texts, phone calls, and visits. In times like these, it really shows who your friends are!! We are definitely blessed with wonderful friends.

Daddy update

I just talked to mama and she said that daddy was doing ok. He has been in and out of sleep all morning. I know everyone is calling and asking what they can do... that means so much to all of us. I'm not really sure if there is anything we can do right now. Caroline isn't working this week so she's got Adam under control. I took today off so that I can help out and be with the family. Mom's principal is aware of what is going on so we don't have to go there... And luckily the sweet people at Century 21 are around to help Daddy out with all of his work. I'm sure my dad is going to be ok but this is going to be a long road to recovery. I just hope that this is a lesson learned and we will all make some serious health changes in our lives!! Thanks again for all of your prayers and concerns. I will continue to update when need be.

The Most Wonderful Man in the WORLD

Today was probably the scariest day of my life. My daddy had a heart attack!! Luckily he was at church when it all started. He got REALLY sweaty and dizzy so he went inside. He felt nauseous and had severe chest pains. EMS picked him up and took him to Laurens Hospital. Dr. Childers saw him and decided it was best to send him to the cardiac ward in Greenville. He was stable and didn't have any pain when mama and I left at 7. By the time we got home, the nurse called and said they wanted to go ahead and do a heart catherization because his enzyme levels were up. (Originally they were going to wait until Tuesday because he was stable and wasn't in any pain but since the enzymes were elivated, they went ahead and did it tonight.) Mom just called and said that he is ok. They found a big blood clot and put a stint in. They also found several blockages. They are not going to do open heart surgery right away. Daddy is going to have to do some MAJOR life style changes and take some aggressive medications. Please keep him in your prayers!

**I want to thank our church and all of our closest family friends for being there for us during these terrible times. We wouldn't know what to do without all of you! We can never thank you all enough!!

Today

Today Adam is 3 months old! I can't believe how time flies!! He's still the sweetest baby ever and making the cutest faces and gestures!!

Today also marks the third day of my headache... WTF?!

Today I've realized I have alot on my plate...

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
AMEN
